What is your favorite gemstone is a diamond, ruby, emerald or sapphire?
Mine is Iolite is pleochroic and because nobody is ever sure what it is and I as a "change of colors. I also like pink tourmaline.
My favorite Opal is b / c it is my birthstone and I love the color. Opal is amorphous, no glasses, but has water in its structure. This is what gives this range of colors of fire. I love that Moonstone is a feldspar mineral that has been cut and polished. Furthermore, most people do not know quartz amethyst is purple! If you've never seen Rutile quartz is also impressive. Is the mineral rutile, which looks like little needles in quartz.
