Gold Diamond Pink

My engagement ring WHITE GOLD started to go yellow in the back?
I promised last 2 months and has a ring on the hand 18K enagagement White gold made by a local jeweler. 42 has a pink sapphire instead of a diamond, and cost approx. $ 800. It starts to go yellow in the back - I tried polishing, but did not remove the yellow tinge. I read that sometimes the rings of white gold are just passing bands yellow gold rhodium ... I had no idea .... this could happen to me? He never owned the white gold before, but the jeweler told me that nothing could make him yellow ... I am very worried, I received a ring cloth or is this normal after 2mths of attrition? If yes, 2mths, what color is that after 1 year, 5 years etc.? Should I return it and request a refund? I would appreciate detailed answers if possible! I am really confused what to do. Thank you all x
I participated in seven months and has an engagement ring in 10kt white gold. It has yellowed. According my research on metal (stimulated by your question) I iEARN general yellowing that occurs if the ring is silver. I also learned that there is really nothing like white gold, like gold, of course, is yellow: "Gold is yellow. In fact, all metals are silvery gray, with only two exceptions, copper and gold. There are however gold alloys which appear white, silver, white or gray. Speaking of gold White Jewelers, they mean white gold alloys. In most major languages these alloys are described as gray instead of white. We keep in "white", though Gray would be a more accurate description. "And:" White gold alloys became fashionable in the 1920s, mainly as a substitute for platinum, which has recently become fashionable. Platinum is quite expensive, requires temperatures of more than gold and is generally considered like to work harder than gold, but it is ideal for use in the diamond industry. At least three patents have been issued for different "recipes" white gold alloys in the 1920s, using different components to produce the whitening and bleaching. simply mixing white and yellow metal together not only to produce an alloy of yellow light produces a difference in the atomic structure which alters the reflectivity light of different wavelengths. The metal most commonly causes a significant bleaching effect in gold is nickel, which has the great advantage not cheap, and provide, in 18 carat alloys, some good color for platinum, but the color match to 14 and from alloy 9 Carat is poor. It also has the serious defect that commonly cause dermatitis through allergic reactions when used in contact with skin. It is also considered slightly carcinogenic. Regulation on the use of nickel in jewelry is under way, and soon all or most of the jewelry sold in the New Community will be free of nickel, or at least "nickel-safe." Most alloys of white gold from Italy United States and the use of nickel. A typical nickel containing white gold alloy might be, in parts per thousand: 750 gold, copper 55, nickel 145, Zinc 50 "" Gold is an element, if pure gold 24 karat gold is always color. But never made jewelry in 24k gold, because too soft. However, pure gold is mixed with other metals for use in jewelry. If she is half gold and half the other metal is 12 karat. And if the other metals in the mixture is white, as the palladium and nickel alloy of 12 carat white can be nice, or at least gray-white and white is called 12 karat gold. If the jewel is polished and shiny as chrome, which is rhodium plated. If this is not brilliant, it is probably no rhodium. However, all that is rhodium-plated jewelry should be white gold while because, as the lining is spent on points, the contrast with yellow gold will be unacceptable with white gold you see nothing but a clumsy weak points when the door trim. I do not know that in times past that rhodium plated jewelry in white gold, yellow gold ever. I think that because I have never seen otherwise, even if I'm not in the jewelry industry and not not in the loop. I know some jewelers today introduced rhodium yellow gold, many people including myself believe that this is a practice of poor quality, but it happens more and more intrusive it becomes, the less we are able to say it is unethical. So remember - when you was purchased, and do not attend a jeweler that offers rhodium plated yellow gold. "Hope this helps =]
