Real Pewter Ring
Is there an at home test I can do to tell if something is real silver?

I made a ring in a jewelry class and it was either casted in silver or pewter, how can I differ between the two?

The only way to know for sure is to use a chemical test. You can buy this on ebay for about $10. It has a small black square of stone and a small dropper bottle of acid. Scratch the ring on the stone enough to leave a line, then drop a drop of the acid on the mark. If the acid turns red, the ring is silver. The test kit will come with directions to tell you what the colors indicate. I haven't used mine for awhile but I remember when the chain that was supposed to be sterling turned blue instead of red, I knew it was fake!

Bye-bye to bling: Men are wearing less jewelry, and keeping it understated
Today's trend in men's jewelry is simple and masculine, with pieces in leather, fabric and silver. Country music performers show the way. Today's trend in men's jewelry is simple and masculine, with pieces in leather, fabric and silver. Country music performers show the way.
