Should Smokey Joe Wood be in the hall of fame?
Most people today never heard of him. He was the Red Sox ace pitcher during the dead ball era during their dynasty. He was very dominate for most of his career. He had 3 World Series rings. He won 117 games but only lost 56. His career ERA is 2.03. He had 2 seasons wining over 30 games. He had 3 seasons with an ERA under 2 with one of them as low as 1.49. He was also one of the best hitting pitchers ever with a career batting average of 283. Even though his career was short, he was very dominate. Should Smokey Joe Wood be in the hall of fame? Why or why not?
