How to hold a differential in place while unbolting ring?

I got a ford 8.8 rear end out of a 98 explorer and I'm changing the Ring And Pinion gears on it, what is the best way to hold the differential in place while i unbolt the ring-gear bolts? Thanks
For the time being i'm simply disassembling the rear end, most is already apart because it got shortened and the brackets got welded to it. I dont plan to do the actual install/assembly myself

Put it in gear and set the park brake and loosen the bolts before you remove the case. If it's too late for that advise, set the ring gear in a vise between two small pieces of a 2x4.
