3 red rings xbox 360 dvd drive trouble?
So I had my xbox 360 opened all the way up and on top of a desk. Unfortunately my cat ran by and knocked the dvd drive out of the console so it fell and it tore one of the 10 wires from my 12 pin power cable to my dvd drive. Now when i plug it in (even after i soldered the broken wire) I get the three red rings. If i unplug my dvd drive i can boot my xbox 360 normal. I just cant put games in it. Now im wondering. should i either A. buy a new 12 pin connector and hope that solves the problem, B buy a new dvd drive, or C get the console fixed. I already ordered a new drive off of ebay in case that is the problem, because its cheaper that way then having it fixed. But i was thinking perhaps the connectors wires just got fried when it fell? any ideas? thanks guys
my warranty was already voided thats why im attempting to fix it myself first for less.
