Ring Pull Can Opener
Ring Pull can opener
Why do the extra strings ring/string rings when I pull off...?
I have my amp on High Gain (which is like heavy distortion) and it's sensitive. You can hear my fingers scratch along the strings and it sounds very loud. So you KNOW the other guitar strings are going to ring....
How can I get that to stop? Even when I pull my finger off...let's say a 14th fret on the D string, I play that note and when I let go, it rings loudly. An open D, but I only want to play that 1 note, not trying to do a pull-off/hammer-on thing. How come it doesn't happen to artists? Because they have the best equipment?
It's a combination of the two techniques mentioned above. You want to mute the lower strings with your picking hand, and the higher strings with your fretting hand. It sounds more complex then it is. Good luck man!
