I jammed my left Ring Finger playing basketball and its still swollen 2 months later. What do I do?
I went to the doctor and got xrays. They came back negative. All the doctor told me to do is to wear a splint which I did for 5 weeks until it became so uncomfortable I couldn't stand it. After taking it off a few days later my finger starts to swell again and now it looks like it did the day it was injured. What do I do? I've tried ice, elevation, everything. I can't fully straighten it because the swelling is in the middle knuckle on my finger. I also can't close my hand all the way to make a fist. Is this permanent damage or can it be fixed with surgery?
try tying a cloth around it very tight. it will feel better than wearing a splint. if u dont try my method you then must put a splint because the purpose is to immobilize it. ice is just to cure the pain it has nothing to do with curing it.
