Ring Terminal Harness
Ring Terminal harness
can i connect the stereo ground wire to the connector on the back of the old stereo?
in my dodge neon i bought the snap wire harness and spliced all the stereos wires into it. the only wire that wasn't in the snap harness was the ground wire. on the back of the old stereo, there is this wire with a ring terminal bolted to the back of the stereo. Is that the ground wire for the car? can i bolt that to the new stereo to ground it or should i connect the ground wire from the stereo to the ring terminal on it? What should i do to ground it?
The wire with the ring terminal that was bolted to the old radio,is that still connected inside the dash somewhere.
If so see if you can look and see what it is attached to,that sounds like your ground wire.
If it is connected to a metal part inside the dash then you can use that wire as your ground.
If the ring terminal is still attached you can cut it off and splice the ground wire from the radio to it.
