Sapphire Ruby Ring
Sapphire Ruby Ring

Antique 12k ring?
My grandmother died recently and left me a beautiful ring. It was bought at auction in the 1970s and was considered old at the time. Set in 12k yellow gold. It has a very large ruby / As a sapphire in the center. What surprises me is that if you create the gems of any laboratory there 40-70? Where can I look for more information about this? Are there forums to talk about vintage jewelry? Several thank you!
Although more recent gems are created in the laboratory, stained glass and other methods of using the stones are not simulated. Since the jewelry is made, the stones were also cheaper and is dyed to resemble their more expensive counterparts. May his ring fall into this category or can be a good example of the real thing. I recommend that if you really want to know about this ring must be taken to a trusted jeweler with a certified gemologist and appraiser. So you know what they really are and also depending on the type of stones are the right way to take care of him. However, as was his grandmother who is caring.
